When first there was talk of a the Grand Central Post Office, the brightest and the best of the Sainthood came together and had a meeting of what to do with this information. They are thinkers, planners the ones that try and make their vision of a brighter future real. This could be real, the information down there could change everything.
Deciding that swiftness was the best course of action. Each sect of our faith sent forth their brightest stars the very best of this generation of Sainthood. Each member was a postman for some time, capable of crossing the wastes themselves and have done so for many years.
From the Engineers of Hope they sent Abraham the Architect, a man known for his crafts, he could craft anything you can imagine. He could build houses, he could make the strongest Hootch for miles, and he could sharpen a blade to perfection on damn near any surface.
From Honorarium, they sent Chandra the lifekeeper, A Saint of their order. When disturbing the resting place of so many Sainthood no less than a saint was needed for this mission. His piety was matched by none, and his faith had saved the members of this group countless times.
From the Path Finders, Flint West a Talented Jones that had been exploring since he could barely crawl, he knew how to Jones like no ones business. You'd almost assume the way he dodged situations and climbed that he knew a few tricks that your ordinary Jones could never pull off. If there ever was a guy made to find a lost Post Office he was your guy.
From Watchers of the Crossroads there came Troy Walker. I ain't never seen a man that scarred up, he truly had a face only a mother could love. However if you believe what he tells you each scar came from a Goliath he killed, he might be lying but they are the only things I've ever seen wound him in the entirety of our travels the more common Zeds never even came close to drawing his blood he moved faster then you can comprehend.
They entered a Tunnel it was at the location they were given, the hopes and prayers of our religious went with them.
That's when everything went to shit
I don't know what happened down there, but when they came out they were changed. They had fire in their eyes and Chandra just looked changed, Troy had his vocal cords ripped out. Judging by the blood on each of them it seemed they did this to themselves. What could have happened to them down there that caused this.
I took the better part of valor and ran for it, I ran till my legs gave out and even then I dragged myself as far as I could under a fallen tree. The fear kept me awake long past when I should have slept. I heard and saw them rampaging around, they collapsed every entrance they could find to the underground. They slaughtered anyone who was camped near the entrance other sainthood, kings court, it didn't matter. They just killed and killed until there was no one left. Their blades covered, not a spot of their gear was clean of bone or brain matter.
I left after that, I reported this to my superiors in the Scribes of The Eternal Teachers, and no more was spoken on this again.
